Out and About: Homer Lake offers gift-making event

It's Christmas, naturally, so try making gifts

Homer Lake Forest Preserve will offer a natural approach to creating holiday gifts from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday.

Stations will be set up for children to make, wrap and take home presents and ornaments for their families and friends.

Visitors can also help create treats to decorate the trees outside of the Interpretive Center as a gift to the wildlife that call this preserve home.

The forest preserve is at 2573 S. Homer Lake Road, Homer. More information is at ccfpd.org.
