Hot Stove Banquet draws crowd of more than 400

Nearly 400 people were in attendance for the University of Illinois baseball team's Hot Stove Banquet at the I Hotel on Jan. 18. This annual event is hosted by the Fighting Illini Dugout Club, the official booster club of Fighting Illini baseball, and head coach Dan Hartleb. The 2014 Illinois baseball season was kicked off with the introduction of the team and coaching staff.

Former Illini and San Diego Padres catcher Chris Robinson was featured as the special guest and speaker. The event included silent and live auctions. Money raised will go toward the team's trip to the Dominican Republic next fall.

The Dugout Club is the official organization devoted to supporting the University of Illinois varsity baseball program. Membership and support is used to enhance the quality of the Illini baseball experience. For more information, visit
