Promise Healthcare awarded the first Wisdom Tooth Award

Promise Healthcare awarded the first Wisdom Tooth Award

On Feb. 10, the Delta Dental of Illinois Foundation awarded Promise Healthcare the first Widsom Tooth Award for the SmileHealthy program. Representatives from the Delta Dental of Illinois Foundation were on hand to present the award at a VIP reception held at the I Hotel and Conference Center. The award includes a $100,000 cash grant.

The Delta Dental Foundation of Illinois seeks to help expand or enhance a proven children's oral health program in Illinois. Promise Healthcare was selected from several organizations across the state to receive the Wisdom Tooth Award in recognition of its dedication to improving the oral health of Illinois residents, particularly children.

The Wisdom Tooth Award will allow Promise Healthcare to expand the number of children it reaches through its SmileHealthy program. Over the next two years, SmileHealthy will implement the Well Child Hygiene Project integrating dental care with primary medical care at Frances Nelson and provide oral health education at outreach events. SmileHealthy will be able to add clinic days for children at the dental center and through the mobile program.
