Petals & Paintings tickets available

CHAMPAIGN — Tickets are on sale now for the annual Petals & Paintings gala taking place April 4 at Krannert Art Museum.

The Petals & Paintings exhibition opens that day and remains on view that Saturday and Sunday, which is University of Illinois Moms' Weekend. It is one of the museum's most popular events.

In it, 21 award-winning florists from throughout the Midwest will create one-of-a-kind designs in response to pieces in the museum, selected by Petals & Paintings guest curator Rick Orr.

Entrance to the exhibition is free, with a $3 donation suggested. Tickets to the gala and silent auction the evening of April 4 are $75 and on sale now.

At the gala, the Briggs Houchins Trio will perform live music, and cocktails and hors d'oeuvres by Michaels' Catering will be served. Also, the Krannert Art Museum Council will host a silent auction with items donated by individuals and local businesses including jewelry, fine dining and goods and services. The gala will end with the raffle of a framed original painting by New York artist and UI alumnus Robert Lenz.

Raffle tickets may be purchased for $25 each or three for $50. Both raffle and gala tickets are available for purchase in the museum offices on the second floor of the Kinkead Pavilion. You also may order by phone by calling 244-0516. You need not be present to win. For more information, email kam@illinois.edu.
