'A Day at Stateville.' 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. today, Unitarian Universalist Church of U-C.309 W. Green St., U. A staged reading of a play presented by The Changing Minds Campaign. Written by Stateville Correctional Center prisoners and performed by former Stateville prisoners.Question-and-answer session. A Caribbean Weekend. 10 a.m. to noon Saturday and 8 and 9 a.m. services Sunday, First Presbyterian Church of Champaign, 302 W. Church St. Saturday morning, meet (via Skype) Jo Ella Holman, the Presbyterian Church USA liaison to the Caribbean, followed by Nils Jacobsen from the University of Illinois Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies on "Cuba in the Caribbean Context." Noon Saturday, over a lunch of Jamaican jerk chicken, Joe Grant will talk about the evolution of the Mass and the use of the steel drums and other instruments. Sunday services feature a performance of Glenn McClure's "Caribbean Mass," by the choir, soloists and the IPan,University of Illinois' steel drum ensemble. Music

Brent Vernon. 7 p.m. today, Mansfield United Methodist Church, Mansfield. Vernon, an accomplished Christian music artist, songwriter, ventriloquist and children's book author and illustrator, presents a family friendly performance, including his music and comedic skits with Sam the Dummy.
