Fisher Fair queen candidates announced

FISHER — Who'll be crowned Miss Fisher Fair Queen on July 8?

The field of seven, announced Friday, includes: Alexandra Stuckemeyer, 17, Mahomet; Madison Frerichs, 19, St. Joseph; Hunter Marsh, 20, Champaign; Shelby Simmons, 18, Urbana; Maddie Cender, 17, Mahomet; Megan Porter, 19, Gifford; and Tiffany Smith, 18, Fisher.

Last year's queen, Kirsten Blackford, recently joined Blue Ridge High School's teaching staff after graduating from the University of Illinois with a bachelor's degree in agriculture education.

Also, eight Champaign County youths will vie to succeed Ogden's Makennah Hamilton as Little Miss Fisher Fair: Holly Wieber, 5, Mahomet; Mackenzie Stow, 6, Thomasboro; Lacie Bushman, 6, Mahomet; Katelynn Graham, 8, Rantoul; Morgan Davis, 8, Ivesdale; Emmy Pentti, 5, Fisher; Khloee McMorris, 5, Rantoul; and Evelynn Graham, 5, Rantoul.
