EVENTS

Open house for Father Michael Kuse. 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Blessed Sacrament Church, 1119 S. Seventh St., Quincy. Friends from Villa Grove, Hume and Brocton area are welcome to attend. Kuse, a Catholic priest, served Sacred Heart in Villa Grove, St. Michael in Hume and St. Thomas in Brocton from 1981-1984. He was director of vocations for the diocese from 1988-2000, is celebrating his 50th jubilee and will retire June 30. A special presentation will be at 4:30 p.m. He will celebrate his 50th jubilee Masses on Saturday and Sunday in Quincy. Family camp opens 62nd year of camping. Evening of May 26 and ends after breakfast, May 29, Little Galilee Christian Camp and Retreat Center, 7539 Little Galilee Road, Clinton. In addition to adult programming, age-appropriate recreation, worship and Bible classes will be offered for youths from second grade through high school. Pastor anniversary celebration. 3 p.m. Sunday, Morning Star Freewill Baptist Church, 1402 W. Eads St., U. Pastor and Sister Jimmie O. Vacation Bible school campout. 6 to 8:30 p.m. June 9 and 3 to 7 p.m. June 10, First United Methodist Church of Champaign, 210 W. Church St. Kids discover Jesus' light! A weekend of fun with Bible exploration, projects-with-a-purpose, wilderness games, music and more. Saturday will feature a program beginning at 5:30 p.m., followed by a meal. BAZAARS / FOOD / FUNDRAISERS

Neil St. Vintage glassware, household items, clothing, shoes and all the things you'd expect, plus baked goods galore, crafts, and knife sharpening ($3). Bag sale from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday. MUSIC

Spring Music Festival. 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Mount Vernon United Methodist Church, 2201 County Road 900 E, C. The Praise Band and Choir and a string trio of young musicians will perform. The festival will include praise music to pop, bluegrass, jazz and other genres. The festival is free while the church will takes its usual Sunday offering. Call 766-3430.

WORKSHOPS / CLASSES

Grace and Truth in the Gospel of John. 7 p.m. Thursdays, June 1-29, Bible Education Center, Lincoln Square Mall. John's Gospel is more than anything about the love of God. MISCELLANEOUS

Interfaith Alliance of Champaign County monthly meeting. 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 24, Wesley United Methodist Church, 1203 W. Green St., C. This meeting is open to members of all religious faiths, both clergy and nonclergy, and is an opportunity to develop understanding between the different faiths as they work together to advance the welfare of the people of the Champaign-Urbana community. Stitch-a-thon. 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Bible Education Center at Lincoln Square, Urbana. The SNUGGLES volunteer organization provides knitted and crocheted squares that are sewn together in South Africa into blankets or sweaters for children in the neediest of day care centers.
