At 2 p.m. today at the main library, Chicago-based songwriter, composer and fiddler Jess McIntosh will join local bluegrass favorite Dan Andree to perform their brand of alternative country music with folk-and-roots influences at this month's In Concert at CPL.

At 7 p.m. Tuesday at the main library, holistic success coach Becky Howell will lead a workshop on creating a personal happiness practice, plus techniques for a quick emotional boost.

At 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Douglass Branch, school-age kids will make an origami fidget spinner at this week's DIY Kids workshop.

At 6 p.m. Monday in Megan's Reading Room, children 2 to 7 with a caregiver can attend Drive-in Movie Night. Use a cardboard box to make your own car and enjoy a few short movies.

At 7 p.m. Wednesday in Lewis Auditorium, attend the closing reception for City of Urbana Artists of the Corridor, Lara Orr and Jill Miller. They will talk about their textile work, followed by a hands-on art activity for families.

At 11 a.m. Saturday in Lewis Auditorium, children and their families can attend the annual Candy Christmas Trees Party. Hear stories and songs and create your own yummy tree to take home.

From 10 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in the second-floor meeting room, learn basic computer skills — how to use a computer, use a mouse, organize documents, files and folders — The class is free, but seating is limited.

At 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in the children's program room, youths 5 to 18 will make Candy Christmas Lights at this week's Kids' Snack Club. Children under 8 must be accompanied by a caregiver.
