Champaign Public Library

Douglass Branch, 504 E. Grove St.

At 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Douglass Branch, school-age kids will make homemade slime at this week's DIY Kids workshop.

At 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the main library, create a kaleidoscope at Family Fun Night.

At 3 p.m. Saturday at the main library, kids can bring in their favorite stuffed animals for a checkup at the Teddy Bear Hospital. Vets in training at the University of Illinois will be on hand to give them some TLC.

Urbana Free Library

At 10 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Tuesday in Lewis Auditorium, children 2 and under with a caregiver can attend Babies Lap Time, featuring books, songs and rhymes.

From 3 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in Lewis Auditorium, youths can attend Teen Open Lab, featuring music recording, 3-D printing, sewing, reading, drawing, gaming and filmmaking.

At 11 a.m. Saturday in Lewis Auditorium, children 3 and up with a caregiver can attend Creepy Crawlies with staff from the Anita Purves Nature Center. They will bring live snakes and worms and tell us all about these fascinating creatures.

Danville Public Library

At 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in the children's program room, youths 5 to 18 will make a doughnut snow person treat at this week's Kids' Snack Club. Participants under 8 must be accompanied by a caregiver.

From 10 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in the second-floor meeting room, learn the basics of Microsoft Word. Participants must be familiar with how to use a computer. The class is free, but seating is limited.

At 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the first-floor meeting room, kids 5 to 11 can get creative with Legos at the latest Builder's Club session. Children under 8 must be accompanied by a caregiver.
