Miss America Party. 7:45 p.m. Sunday, Meadowbrook Community Church, 1902 S. Duncan Road, C. The party is planned to honor Miss Illinois Grace Khachaturian during the Miss America competition. Everyone is welcome. Call 217-369-4610.

Outdoor movie. 8 p.m. Saturday, Sidney Christian Church, 305 E. Main, Sidney. The movie, "I Can Only Imagine." At 7 p.m., the longest banana split ever seen in Sidney will be served. Also, free popcorn, soda and water. Feel free to return on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings for fellowship and in-depth study of the film's message for all ages. Sunday School Rally Day and potluck. 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Mount Vernon United Methodist Church, 2201 County Road 900 E., C. A kick-off to its fall program. Worship at 10:30 a.m. with Children's Sunday School during service. The potluck, open to the public, is an opportunity for the community to visit with the congregation and to introduce their children. Mount Vernon UMC men will cook hot dogs and hamburgers. Forty Hours Devotion. Sunday through Tuesday, St. Matthew, 1303 Lincolnshire Drive, C. Msgr. Stanley Deptula, diocesan director of liturgy, will preach a Eucharistic mission during which the blessed sacrament will be exposed for adoration in the church for more than 40 hours (through Tuesday evening). Mass/homily with Msgr. Deptula, followed by exposition of the blessed sacrament in the church, 5:15 p.m. Sunday and 7 p.m. Monday. Olivet Holiness Campmeeting. 6:30 p.m. Sept. 11-16, Olivet Holiness Tabernacle, located off Route 1 on Ash Street, Olivet. Inspirational and uplifting messages from six local pastors.
