At 4 p.m. Thursday at the Douglass Branch, youths will hone their skills at the monthly Chess Club.

At 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the main library, read to a dog at the monthly Greyt Readers event — we provide the books, and American Greyhound brings the dogs. Family Fun Night offers a chance for families to try something new together.

At 2 p.m. Friday at the Douglass Branch, school-age kids will test their knowledge and compete with friends at the annual Douglass Branch Trivia Bowl.

From 3 to 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday in Lewis Auditorium, Teen Open Lab will feature music recording, 3-D printing, sewing, reading, drawing, crafting, video gaming, filmmaking and just hanging out.

From 11 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, children 2 to 6 and their caregivers can take part in Crafty Story Time, featuring stories, songs and a craft.

At 5 p.m. Wednesday in the first-floor meeting room, make a festive graham cracker house at this month's Teen DIY for youths 12 to 18. Materials will be provided.
