EVENTS

Annual Blessing of the Tractors. Noon Saturday, Hensley Township Building, County Road 2100 East, at 900 North, C. Mount Vernon United Methodist Church will hold this annual blessing to celebrate and bless the people who work the land. There will be a short blessing ceremony and then the ladies of the congregation will serve a free lunch. All farmers and gardeners in the area are invited to bring seeds, plants, soil and implements to be blessed by Pastor Naomi Roberts. Information and directions at MtVernon-umc.org.

Benefit soup supper. 4:30 to 7 p.m. March 23, Immanuel Lutheran Church, Osman. Menu: Chili, potato soup, oyster soup, sandwiches, pie and drinks. Jodi Burgess of Fisher, diagnosed in 2018 with pancreatic cancer, recently started new chemotherapy treatments. Cost is a free-will offering to be given to Burgess for medical expenses.
