Certainly underscores the fact that football is a team game.

This and the fact that Illinois has won more mens basketball games than any other B1G program are really head-scratchers.

If you're a Illini football coach,  you'll probably try to put a positive spin on this when talking to high school recruits.   "  Illinois produces more 1st round NFL draft picks than any other Big Ten school"      If you're a coach for a competing Big Ten school you'll use this as a negative recruiting tool against the Illini:  " they have a history of under-utilizing their best players plus they have a losing record."
