Flames engulf an abandoned home near Ogden. The home,owned by Roy Wilson of rural Ogden,was destroyed in the tuesday evening fire. An Ogden fire official said the fire was of suspicious origin, but the no one knows what started the blaze at the old farmhouse,which had been a target for vandals in the past. November 1, 1989

At Wiley Elementary School in Urbana, long time teacher Marcy Vancil is retiring from the Urbana School District. She has won awards for her innovative teaching, which includes turning her classroom into a time machine where kids study a place or era. This is a ceremony retiring the time machine. June 3, 2008

Demolition of the Philo Grade School began monday January 20, 2003. Champion Environmental of Gilberts, Ill. is contracted to destroy six buildings in total. Justin Gorniak of Janesville,Wisc. operates the backhoe that is removing brick from the building on January 20.2003.
