Car Rescue

Cornbelt Fire Protection District Dive Team members and  Reynolds Towing Service Inc. employees work to pull a car submerged in the Sangamon River off Illinois 47 in Mahomet on Saturday, June 29, 2013. According to Police Chief Mike Metzler, the car was northbound in Illinois 47 about 2 a.m. Saturday when it apparently veered off the road near the bridge over the Sangamon on the south side of the village. The driver was able to get out of the car and was later taken to Carle Foundation Hospital, where he was treated and released.
