Tuesday's highlights: DeHaan paces M-S soccer
URBANA — Morgan DeHaan had a goal and an assist and Kathy Bradley stopped both shots she faces as Mahomet-Seymour’s girls’ soccer team earned a 3-0 victory Tuesday.
Sarah VanWingerden and Catherine McHale also scored for the Bulldogs.
Rantoul victorious. Kolton Vermillion allowed one hit over six superb innings, striking out seven to lead the Rantoul baseball team to a 4-2 win at Pontiac. Vermillion also drove in a pair of runs for the Eagles.
Hawks fall. Stuart Schopp drove in a run, but the Prairie Central baseball team dropped a 4-2 decision at Normal U-High on Tuesday.
Close call for Clinton. Bailey Walker drove in the lone run for Clinton, but the Maroons lost 2-1 at Deer Creek-Mackinaw.
Green shines. Avona Green won the 100- and 200-meter dashes in Centennial’s dual meet at Normal Community.
Watseka boys win invite. The Watseka boys’ track & field team won the Comet Carnival in Clifton on Tuesday on the strength of victories in the 800, 1,600 and 3,200 relay events. The Watseka girls’ team finished second.
