Football player arrested after gun fired at area bar

CHAMPAIGN – A University of Illinois football player was due to return this afternoon to court on charges accusing him of shooting a gun in Champaign.

Erique D. Robertson, 19, a freshman linebacker with the UI team, was arrested by Champaign police in front of Ellusions, 207 W. Clark St., at 1:45 a.m. Sunday, according to Champaign police spokeswoman Rene Dunn.
