Electronics recycling event set for Feb. 27
The first Champaign County-wide residential electronics collection event for the year will be held at the end of February.
The collection will be from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, at The News Gazette Distribution Center, 3202 Apollo Drive, C.
The event was initially scheduled for this coming Saturday.
In case of inclement weather such as snow and ice, the event will be on Saturday, March 6. If both days are snowy or icy, the collection event will be canceled – and the next collection would occur on May 8.
Residents can bring up to 10 items to the event.
The county will accept the following items: computers, computer monitors, televisions, printers, mobile telephones, computer cables, mice, keyboards, stand-alone facsimile machines, MP3 players, portable digital assistants, video game consoles, video cassette recorders/players, digital video disk players or similar video devices, zip drives and scanners.
