Heartland Theatre plans to offer master class in acting

NORMAL – The Heartland Theatre will offer a master class in acting from Jan. 31 to March 21 with Rhys Lovell, an actor, director and playwright who teaches acting at Illinois State and Illinois Wesleyan universities.

The class, designed for the intermediate to advanced student, will meet for eight weeks once a week, beginning Jan. 31. Admittance to the class is by audition only, and enrollment will be capped at 12. Tuition is $175 a person and includes a nonrefundable registration fee of $25. It must be paid by Jan. 27 to secure a place in the class.

Students interested in auditioning should prepare a two-minute monologue from contemporary dramatic literature. The auditions will take place at a time agreed to by the student and Lovell and will include a brief interview.
