Just another example of fallout how poorly Urbana's city government has managed downtown development

The owner shot himself in the foot on this one. Anyone who knows the downtown area knows that itchy bill (the homeless guy) is an urbana icon. When 88 broadway first opened they were packed, that is until the owner began calling the police on Bill day after day after day. The more than 400 people who work in the carle and health alliance offices tried to talk with the owner/ manager and explain that he was not hurting anyone but the people from 88 kept calling the police so these 400 plus people that could have made his business boycotted him for being a biggoted jerk!!!

The silver creek and courier cafe thrive in Urbana because the owner is a dam good business man, which is more than can be said for the creator of that dull menu.
And Mr. Bill is not a biggoted jerk based on wanting the several homeless people who live in the mall to find residence elsewhere.
I can't imagine why anyone thinks that them having no other options is a good thing.

I was really excited when I heard that CU was getting an "upscale" piano bar. Then I went to the mall after 88 Broadway opened and looked in the restaurant only to find that the pianos were not even real pianos, just electric keyboards on stands made to look like pianos. Plus, they had multiple big screen TVs and the whole restaurant opened up into the mall - who wants to eat in a mall? There was no privacy. The whole thing was a let down - I never ate there....

Only good thing about Lincoln Square Mall is that you can go and get some good mileage on your feet doing some mall walking!

It was in the mall, what more can I say? If you ask me, it was killed by the location along.
We went once, sat in the mall area. That arrangement killed the atmosphere. The place was too big for it's own good. Make it smaller.
