Duchinsky named association director. Eric Duchinsky has been named executive director of the Labor and Employment Relations Association.
The association, based at the University of Illinois School of Labor and Employment Relations, has 2,000 national members, including academics, members of management and labor, human resource professionals, attorneys, mediators and arbitrators.
Duchinsky, a Belleville native who has lived in Champaign for 15 years, was previously executive director of the Society of Commercial Arboriculture and marketing manager for the American Oil Chemists Society.
He is also the owner of Edison Solutions, providing consulting and services in the areas of management, marketing, membership, training and sponsorships to nonprofit associations.
Duchinsky will be executive director-designate on Nov. 12 and become executive director on Dec. 1, succeeding Paula D. Wells, who is retiring.
Illinois Public Media hires membership director. John Steinbacher has joined Illinois Public Media in Urbana as membership director.
He was previously membership and component relations manager for the Champaign-based International Society of Arboriculture.
Steinbacher has also served as membership manager and policy specialist for Canadian Doctors for Medicare and membership specialist for the Association of Credit and Collection Professionals International.
Faller chosen as trust officer. Maureen M. Faller has been hired as trust officer/corporate attorney for Prairie State Bank and Trust, which has an office in Champaign.
She will be based in Prairie State's Mount Zion office and will report directly to American Central Bancorporation CEO John Vaughn.
Faller also will be an associate member of the bank's trust committee, serving with James L. Hall, regional president for the bank.
Prairie Center promotes Raney.Gail Raney has been promoted to chief operating officer of Prairie Center Health Systems.
She will oversee operations at the three Prairie Center facilities in Champaign, Urbana and Danville.
Raney has nearly 20 years of experience in the fields of education and substance abuse.
She has been a Prairie Center employee since 2002.
Reinhart joins Provena Covenant Foundation. Angela J. Reinhart has joined the Provena Covenant Medical Center Foundation, Urbana, as a development associate.
She will work with committees to plan events and work with community resources to pay for programs and services that meet the needs of the hospital, its physicians and patients.
Reinhart previously worked with the University of Illinois Division of Intercollegiate Athletics as an event coordinator for the I Fund.
Frasca International adds three. Dennis Dalby, Elise McAuley and Anthony Muccio have joined the staff of Frasca International, Urbana.
Dalby is an electrical assembler. His duties include assembly of electrical harnesses, cables and panels. He was most recently employed at Bill Smith Auto Parts, Urbana.
McAuley works in information systems support. She provides coordination and administrative support to the Information Systems group. She was previously employed at SewBaby Inc., Champaign.
Muccio is a systems software engineer. He will develop software for flight training systems. He received a bachelor's degree in game development from Full Sail University, Winter Park, Fla.
Achievements
Levy receives award. Dr. Sherrie D. Levy has received the Physician Excellence Award at Carle Physician Group's annual new physician and recognition banquet. She is the 22nd recipient of the award.
Levy has been a physician at Carle since 1994. She is a psychiatrist at Carle — Champaign on Kirby.
The award recognizes outstanding devotion to patients and a commitment to excellence.
Wilken named Realtor of Year. Pam Wilken has been named the 2012 Realtor of the Year by the Champaign County Association of Realtors.
The award is given for involvement in the association, real estate field and community.
Wilken, a broker with Coldwell Banker Honig Bell of Champaign, has been a Realtor since 1992.
A past president of the association, she has served on many of its committees.
She has also served on several working groups of the Illinois Association of Realtors.
Other award winners included:
— Jeffrey Gibbens, Rookie of the Year Award, given to a real estate agent who has worked in the field for no more than two years.
He is a broker with Re/Max Realty Associates, Champaign.
— Becky Crane, Affiliate Choice Award, given to a real estate agent selected by affiliate members for outstanding contributions to the local real estate community.
She is a broker with Keller Williams Realty, Champaign.
— Troy Doehring, Affiliate of the Year Award, given to an affiliate member for contributions to the real estate profession through participation in association activities.
He is a licensed home inspector with Tech Spec Home inspection Service, Champaign.
— Janis Redman, broker with Twin City Realty, Champaign, received the Helen Stafford Scholarship, given to an agent who has been a Realtor for no more than five years.
Nurse receives DAISY award. Registered nurse Taryn Newhouse has received the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses at Carle. She is a staff member of the Labor and Delivery Unit there.
Newhouse received a certificate, pin, commemorative sculpture and bouquet of daisies.
Social workers salute Judge Ford. Champaign County Circuit Judge Jeff Ford has been named the Public Citizen of the Year by the State of Illinois chapter of the National Association of Social Workers.
He received the award at a dinner Nov. 1 in Chicago.
Tolono fire unit cited. Fire Chief Dale Grimm of the Tolono Fire Protection District has awarded the district's first Unit Citation to Lt. Brian Lukenbill, Engineer Bobby Kolakowski and Firefighter John Humer for their response to an April 18 porch fire on North Central Street in Tolono.
Center bestows honors. Two individuals and two companies were recently honored by the Developmental Services Center, Champaign.
Brittany Huckstep, a student at Parkland College who has been involved with DSC since 2006, received the Personal Achievement Award for setting goals, developing a plan to achieve them and then setting higher goals. She lives independently in the community and recently purchased her own condo.
Dennis Kirby was given a Special Recognition Award as an outstanding volunteer. He has produced handmade quilts for live and silent auctions, participated in races that benefit the center and volunteered at events.
Pepsi-Cola CU Bottling Co. was named Employer of the Year for offering employees full inclusion in the company and valuing personal success.
Keller Williams Realty was given the Public Service Award for its KW Cares/RED (Renew, Energize and Donate) Day initiative.
The company's efforts benefited DSC's main location on West Bradley Avenue in Champaign and the center's Business Operations and Employment Services building on Clark Road in Champaign.
Relay for Life wins awards. Relay for Life of Champaign County has received the American Cancer Society's Terry Zahn, Heart of Relay, All Star and All American awards.
The Zahn award recognizes excellence in communications. Relay for Life of Champaign County was recognized not only at the state level, but also as one of the top three events in the United States for publicizing events.
The group received state and national recognition and honorable recognition for the Heart of Relay, for events that demonstrate successful practices and innovations.
The local group was recognized at both the state and national level in mission delivery and survivorship.
The All Star Award honors events with significant fundraising and participant growth.
The All American Award honors growth, retention of volunteers, increased public awareness, diversity of participants and strong volunteer leadership. The local group received those awards at the state level.
Jill Rannebarger was chair for the Champaign County event.
