For the fourth holiday season in a row, Ron Meyer and his family are operating Meyer's New and Used Toy Store — with nearly 2,000 like-new toys without the boxes.
The store, located north of Urbana, is open the next four weekends — Nov. 30 to Dec. 2, Dec. 7-9, Dec. 14-16 and Dec. 21-23. Hours are 9 to 5 a.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
The store is located at 2812 E. Oaks Road. To get there, take U.S. 45 north, go a half-mile past Farm & Fleet, then turn east on Oaks Road for a mile.
Besides toys, the store also carries Christmas decorations.
Meyer calls the sale "a great way to save money and get great gifts for the kids this Christmas."
For more information, call Meyer at 369-3425. If there's no answer, call 367-2327.
Monday's the day
Buca di Beppo reaffirmed last week that its opening day in Champaign will be Monday.
The Italian restaurant will be located in the former Pasta House space near the food court at Market Place Shopping Center.
The location will be the chain's fifth in Illinois and will include a bar with signature cocktails and an extensive wine list, according to a release from the chain's owner, Planet Hollywood International.
Buca di Beppo — which serves up lasagna, spaghetti and meatballs, veal saltimbocca and spicy chicken rigatoni, among other things — emphasizes family-style dining and "a fun atmosphere," according to the release.
