Spinlight releases app to help kids learn geography

CHAMPAIGN — Spinlight Studio has released its latest app, Geography Drive USA, a game that helps kids learn more about the 50 states.

It's the ninth app launched by the Champaign-based company, whose previous releases included "Alpha Tots," "Tally Tots" and "Operation Math."

The newest app, released Nov. 20 and geared for kids 5 to 12 years old, sells for $4.99 at the iTunes store.

In the game, players "drive" across the United States, answering questions pertaining to each of the 50 states. Questions cover capitals, state shapes, state nicknames, postal abbreviations, state flags, rivers, mountains, parks, time zones and historical events, among other things.
