Educational series for the small-farm community provides practical knowledge on topics that advance local food production in Illinois, with a look at how practices in production, management and marketing enable operations to improve profitability and sustainability. 'Communicating for Superior Teamwork: Managing Your Communication Style.' 8 a.m. to noon Jan. 23, 8 a.m. to noon Jan. 31 or 1 to 5 p.m. Jan. 31, Parkland Business Training & Community Education, 1315 N. Mattis Ave., C. This session helps participants better understand their own communication style, while offering them expanded opportunities for team-building practice. Paid registrants will be issued an access code to complete an online DiSC personal profile assessment. Assessment must be completed by Jan. 16. Class fee $185.
