Job fair for Danville store's 105 positions starts Saturday

DANVILLE — Kohl's officials are still filling slots for a five-day job fair that starts Saturday and runs through Wednesday.

District Manager Stan Kirchgessner said the company has about 105 positions to fill before the Danville store at 3707 N. Vermilion St. opens in March. He said most of the jobs are part-time.

The store needs register operators, department associates, customer-service associates, early morning freight handlers and other workers.

Kirchgessner said full-time positions were filled three to four weeks ago, and those employees will be assisting with the job fair. He said the main goal is to hire energetic, upbeat individuals who will give customers a great experience when they come in the store.

Although applicants are encouraged to go online or call to get a time slot for the job fair, company officials won't turn away someone who walks in off the street. He said there's still plenty of time for interested applicants to go online or call and get a time slot.

He said the store opening is planned for March, and start dates for those hired will come in waves as the opening date approaches and will depend on what each employee's job entails. He said Kohl's has a diligent training process.

Anyone interested in applying should go to or call 877-639-5645 to schedule an interview and get additional information regarding times and location.

The job fair is being held at the Hampton Inn and Suites, 370 Eastgate Drive, Danville, at the following times:

— 10:45 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Saturday.

— 10:45 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Sunday.

— 11:45 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday.

— 8:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.
