Women's boutique set for campus location

URBANA — A women's boutique will open this fall in Gregory Place East in the space next door to J. Gumbo's.

Fira Boutique, owned by Anna Anderson, plans to sell "fashion-forward" clothing at "affordable price points," according to a release from JSM Commercial, which is leasing the space to Fira.

"Fira started out as a traveling boutique that specialized in sorority events and home parties," Anderson stated in the release.

It has since become "a staple" name in sorority houses on both the University of Illinois and Eastern Illinois University campuses, she said.

"We're excited for Fira to evolve into a storefront location on the University of Illinois campus," she added.

Fira will occupy about 1,300 square feet at 700 S. Gregory St., U.

The store is expected to open in early October. Hours are slated to be 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 4 p.m. Sundays.
