New jobs

Physicians join Christie department. Dr. Kiranmai Jamma and Dr. Muhammad Omer Toor have joined Christie Clinic's Department of Hospital Medicine at Presence Covenant Medical Center, Urbana.

They manage and coordinate inpatient care for Christie patients and work with their primary care physicians.

Jamma received her medical degree from Gandhi Medical College, India, and fulfilled her residency at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria. She is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and served as an internal medicine physician at Christie Clinic for eight years.

Toor received his medical degree at Army Medical College in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, and fulfilled his residency at the UI College of Medicine at Urbana-Champaign. He was the resident medical officer at Quaid e Azam Postgraduate Medical College at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences.

Illinois Public Media names news director. Scott Cameron has joined Illinois Public Media as director of news and public affairs.

He was formerly senior producer of National Public Radio's "Talk of the Nation." He began working at NPR in 2006 as editor of the news/talk call-in show and became its senior producer in 2012.

A broadcast journalism graduate of the University of Illinois, Cameron was a producer and announcer at WDWS-AM/WHMS-FM, Champaign, from 1995 to 1998 and a producer for WGN Radio in Chicago from 1998 to 2006.

Institute hires Ellenberger. Sheri Ellenberger has been hired as business operations coordinator at the Illinois Fire Service Institute, Champaign.

She will be responsible for managing budgets, human resources and grants and contracts.

Ellenberger previously spent 16 years at the National Council of Teachers of English, where she was responsible for customer service, budget management, accounts receivables and payables processing as well as publication and circulation fulfillment. Most recently, she was director of customer support services at the council.

Before her time at NCTE, she was a logistics officer in the Army with the rank of captain.

Myers joins Re/Max. Ben Myers of St. Joseph has joined Re/Max Realty Associates as a sales partner with the Steve Starwalt Team.

A native of Clinton, he has experience in sales.

Cooper chosen as business manager. Angela Cooper has been hired as business manager for Darcy Bean Custom Construction, Champaign, where she will assist with accounting, office management and business development.

She has more than 20 years of business experience and was previously controller for Pavlov Media, Champaign.

Darcy Bean Custom Construction has been providing construction and remodeling services in the area since 1994.

Achievements

Coldwell Banker reps win honors. Judy Fejes of Champaign and Kaye Harper of Paxton have qualified for Coldwell Banker's International President's Circle.

Membership is awarded to the top 5 percent of all sales associates worldwide in the Coldwell Banker system.

Stefanie Pratt & Associates of Champaign was recognized as a Coldwell Banker International President's Circle Team. Membership is awarded to the top 21 percent of all sales associate teams in North America.

Fejes, Harper and Stefanie Pratt & Associates are all associated with Coldwell Banker Honig-Bell.

Rumsey qualifies for conference. Michael Rumsey of Urbana has qualified as a Championship Agent for Farmers Insurance for outstanding overall performance.

As part of the recognition, he attended a Championship conference in Chicago at which new business strategies and key issues were discussed.

Lab announces dissertation award winners. The Survey Research Laboratory at the University of Illinois has named winners of the 2013 Robert Ferber and Seymour Sudman Dissertation Awards, an annual competition for UI graduate students.

Seung Won Hong, winner of the Ferber Award, is a doctoral candidate in human resource development. Her work focuses on the effects of situational factors that influence the information-seeking behavior of project managers.

Yannick Atouba, winner of the Sudman Award, is a doctoral candidate in organizational communication and organizational studies. His dissertation focuses on nonprofit collaboration arranged by funders or government agencies.

Milo Dodson, a doctoral candidate in counseling psychology, won honorable mention for the Ferber Award.

Neil Vander Most, a doctoral student in political science, won honorable mention for the Sudman Award.

Recognition
