Family says business will continue

DANVILLE — Family of the late Robert Pape announced Monday that Pape Funeral Home will continue in the absence of Mr. Pape, who died Sept. 18 in a car accident.

In the news release, the family of E.R. "Bob" Pape III said he will forever remain in their hearts, minds and the community and that Pape Funeral Home "will carry on as Bob would have wanted."

Family members extended their gratitude to everyone who has supported them through their loss, adding that they have all been by his side for many years and will continue the legacy that he created, "providing quality, family services and making you feel like part of our family in your time of loss."

The longtime owner of Pape Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams St., Danville, Mr. Pape died in a single-vehicle crash Sept. 18 on Interstate 57 in Kankakee County. According to Illinois State Police, he was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
