DANVILLE — The Monical's Pizza restaurant on North Vermilion Street is undergoing an expansion of its parking lot, but an expansion of the dining room is also being considered, according to an official with the restaurant's corporate offices.
Max Brigham at the corporate offices in Bradley said business at the Monical's restaurant at 3542 N. Vermilion St. in north Danville has been growing rather aggressively.
He said there are "some bottlenecks there, particularly in the parking lot, so we are fixing that" and considering expanding the dining room.
Crews have been clearing and leveling property behind the restaurant and its existing parking lot, but the corporation has not yet made a decision on expanding the dining room.
"It's definitely something we are looking at very closely. They're doing really well over there," he said.
Brigham said officials realized customers were having problems finding a place to park, and sometimes, when you loosen up the parking situation, the problem moves to the dining room. He said the corporation has options for expansion of the building and plans it could pull off the shelf if that decision is made.
Brigham said once the parking-lot expansion is finished and the holidays are over, a decision on expanding the dining room will be finalized.
"There's certainly a very good chance we will" expand, he said.
