Law firm adding longtime attorney, expanding offices

CHAMPAIGN — The Meyer Capel law firm is adding longtime Bloomington-Normal attorney Bob Lenz as a principal of the firm and expanding its offices to a new location in Bloomington, the firm announced Friday.

Lenz, who has practiced law continuously in McLean County for more than 50 years, will continue to handle cases involving business and commercial law, litigation, land development and real estate.

In Bloomington-Normal, Lenz will be supported by attorney Jason Barickman and additional attorneys from Meyer Capel's office in Champaign. Barickman, a state senator who is already a principal at Meyer Capel, will continue to operate on an interim basis from Meyer Capel's current Bloomington office at 2401 E. Washington St., Suite 202, and will relocate to the firm's new Bloomington office at 202 N. Center St. later this year.

That office has been the location of Lenz's law practice.

Lenz served as a trustee of the University of Illinois from 1975 to 1981, and has also been president of the McLean County Bar Association, president of the Abraham Lincoln Association and regent of the Lincoln Academy of Illinois.
