Company to open County Market in Tilton

TILTON - Covington Foods announced today that it has purchased the Southgate Plaza shopping center in Tilton and plans to open a County Market grocery store at that site.

The company intends to operate the shopping center at 1628 Georgetown Road in Tilton and retain the current tenants, which include Green Jade restaurant, Auto Zone and a couple other tenants.

But in the vacant space that once was occupied by an Eagle grocery, Covington Foods plans to open a new 35,000-square-foot grocery store in spring or early summer next year, according to company officials. Eagle left that space in 2003.
