Burglaries reported in Champaign, Urbana

Police are investigating a series of burglaries in Champaign-Urbana over the past few days.

According to a Champaign police report, somebody kicked in an apartment door in the 600 block of Crescent Drive on Tuesday afternoon, broke into the apartment and stole 22 DVDs. The door was also damaged.

A burglar entered a car on the 1000 block of South Third Street on Wednesday and stole a brown leather wallet, Social Security card, driver's license, credit card, debit card, University of Illinois identification card and radar detector.

A cell phone was stolen from a Champaign woman while she was at a bar in the 200 block of North Neil Street on Tuesday.

A black Sony iPod was stolen from the locker of a 13-year-old Champaign girl at Edison Middle School.

Two wooden paddles and a fraternity banner were taken in the burglary of the Omega Delta Fraternity in the 1100 block of South Third Street on Thursday.

On Wednesday, somebody knocked in the door of a home in the 900 block of North Third Street in Champaign.

A home was broken into in the 1800 block of Winchester Street in Champaign on Thursday afternoon. The burglar took an AK-47 rifle, a Smith and Wesson .357 handgun, a 30-round magazine for the AK-47 and some marijuana.

On Friday, somebody broke into a locked car on the 1400 block of North Prospect Avenue and stole a dark brown purse and some keys.

Somebody stole six plastic chairs from the Expresso Royale Cafe, 602 E Daniel St., C, after 10 p.m. Thursday.

According to an Urbana police report, someone took a women's Roadmaster mountain bike from the driveway of a home in the 1500 block of East Fairlawn Drive in Urbana on Thursday.

A Dell computer, Yamaha music maker, microphone stand, ProSound microphone stand and music filter were stolen from a home in the 1300 block of North Lincoln Street in Urbana on Thursday.
