Possible suicide near tracks in Danville being investigated

DANVILLE – The Danville Police Department and the Vermilion County Coroner's Office are investigating a possible suicide near the railroad tracks off Logan Avenue in Danville, according to the coroner's office.

Howard Pollitt, 42, of Danville was found early Sunday morning hanging from a tree near the railroad tracks that cross Logan Avenue near Sherman Street.

Police and the coroner's office were not releasing any other details Sunday night, and an autopsy is scheduled for today, according to the coroner's office.
