Reports of recent crimes in Champaign-Urbana
In crimes reported recently to area police:
CHAMPAIGN
— 1500 block of Hedge Road: Three teen-age girls released to their parents after they were found to have entered a vacant home on Dec. 28 and damaged doors and walls.
— Country Fair Apartments, 100 block of Kenwood Road: Someone threw a chair and an orange at a window, breaking it, Sunday.
— 700 block of Sherwood Terrace: Car rifled on Friday but nothing taken.
— 2000 block of Moreland Boulevard: Apartment broken in between Dec. 17 and Friday; stereo, two flat-screen televisions and a DVD player stolen.
— Information Technology Associates, 701 Devonshire Drive: Office broken in between Thursday and Sunday but nothing apparently missing.
— 1400 block of Centennial Drive: Unlocked vehicle entered Dec. 30; stereo faceplate stolen.
URBANA
— 100 block of East McHenry Street: Four mailboxes vandalized between Sunday night and Monday morning.
— Provena Covenant Medical Center, 1400 W. Park St.: 47-year-old man entered an employee’s office about 12:50 p.m. Monday and took a wallet from a purse. The employee confronted him but he refused to give it back and left on foot.
— Hendrick House, 904 W. Green St.: 43-year-old woman used company credit card to buy numerous items between late November and early this month.
— 2000 block of South Philo Road: Screen and window broken in break-in attempted between Friday and Sunday.
— 1700 block of East Fairlawn Avenue: 16- and 17-year-old boys damaged wooden rocking chair and drywall about 1:30 a.m. Sunday while intoxicated; eggs thrown at house, van and garage in same block on Saturday.
— 1200 block of West Beardsley Avenue: Two men entered home in apparent burglary attempt Sunday but fled when confronted by resident.
