Woman fights off attacker in late-night incident on UI campus

URBANA - University of Illinois police are investigating an attack late Saturday on the fifth floor of a campus building.
Between 11:30 and midnight on Saturday, a woman was walking in the fifth floor hallway of the Music Building, 1114 W. Nevada St., U, when a man grabbed her from behind, according to a release from UI police.
The man came out from a stairwell door and put his arm around the woman's throat, the release said. When she elbowed and kicked the attacker, he ran away down the stairs.
The incident was reported Monday. The woman was not injured.
