Radio personality due back in court in April on DUI charge
URBANA — WDWS Radio personality Dave Loane is due back in court next month after being arrested early Saturday for drunken driving.
State’s Attorney Julia Rietz said Loane, 51, of Philo, was seen by a University of Illinois police officer weaving on South First Street near Kirby Avenue about 12:30 a.m.
Rietz said Loane was southbound on First at Kirby when he crossed the center line and almost struck an oncoming car. At the intersection of First Street and St. Mary’s Road, he didn’t stop until he was about 30 feet into the intersection, according to the police report.
Rietz said Loane refused to take a breathalyzer test but was arrested after failing field sobriety tests.
He was issued tickets for driving under the influence, improper lane usage and disobeying a traffic sign.
He was ordered to appear in court on April 16.
