Police looking for robber in west Champaign

CHAMPAIGN - Champaign police are looking for a gunman who robbed a newspaper delivery person in a west Champaign apartment complex before noon Wednesday.
Police spokeswoman Rene Dunn said about 11:40 a.m. the victim was in the Countrybrook Apartments in the 2500 block of West Springfield Avenue when he was approached by a man who displayed a gun and took money from him.
Dunn said the robber is described as a black man, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, 25 to 29 years old, clean-shaven with short, thin hair. He was wearing a long-sleeved black shirt and black pants.
Dunn said because police are still looking for the man, Centennial High School students were being kept inside as a precautionary measure.
