URBANA — An Urbana man was arrested Friday after allegedly stealing a purse and threatening people with a syringe on the University of Illinois campus.
According to UI police, Nathaniel Huff, 20, was arrested about 2:20 p.m. between Lincoln and Gregory Halls after first grabbing a purse from a young woman near Foellinger Hall.
He ran and then was chased by several people on the Quad, said UI spokesman Jeff Unger.
He had apparently been threatening people with a syringe. Nobody was hurt, Unger said.
Huff was arrested for robbery, aggravated battery and possession of a syringe, he said.
Unger said it’s still unknown what was in the syringe.
