In crimes reported to area police:

CHAMPAIGN

  • American Legion Post, 708 N. Hickory St.: CDs and books stolen from vehicle Friday.
  • 2000 block of Cynthia Drive: Car tire cut Saturday.
  • 1900 block of Garden Hills Drive: House entered early Saturday and two walls written on.
  • 2500 block of Campbell Drive: Small fires intentionally set on porch about 3 a.m. Saturday while residents home.
  • Ducky's Formal Wear, 134 E. University Ave.: Copper tubing stolen Saturday from two air conditioning units.
  • Church of the Brethren, 1210 N. Neil St.: Copper tubing stolen July 11 from air conditioning units; reported Monday.
  • Melody Music, 602 N. Country Fair Drive: Passenger window of vehicle broken Saturday; 50 CDs stolen.
  • Jo-Ann Fabrics & Crafts, 1420 N. Neil St.: Woman returned to car Monday to find her trunk open and purse stolen; it was later located nearby with nothing apparently missing.
  • Lowe's, 1904 N. Prospect Ave.: GPS and watch stolen from unlocked vehicle Sunday.
  • 1100 block of North Market Street: Teen arrested for burglary to motor vehicle for stealing cell phone and wallet from car late Sunday night.
  • 600 block of West Clark Street: Power tools and vending machine stolen from unattached garage July 19; reported Saturday.
  • 1100 block of Parkland: Vehicle passenger window broken out Saturday; purse stolen.
  • 800 block of South Locust Street: Vehicle damaged Monday for second time in 24 hours.
  • 300 block of West Maple Street: Cash, television and DVD player stolen Sunday night.
  • 300 block of East Clark Street: Bicycle stolen July 21.
  • 1100 block of North Market Street: 1986 Chevrolet stolen from yard early Monday.

URBANA

  • 1700 block of East Windsor Road: Unlocked vehicle entered Tuesday; purse with wallet stolen.
  • 1700 block of Melrose Village Circle: Forced entry to apartment bedroom; computer, television, DVD player stolen.
  • Walmart, 100 S. High Cross Road: Three men arrested for criminal damage to property early Tuesday after damaging merchandise while intoxicated.
  • Washington Street and Smith Road: 27-year-old Champaign man battered about 11:30 p.m. Monday by three men who tried to steal his cell phone and wallet but didn't get the job done; victim taken to hospital for treatment.
  • Cottage Grove and Colorado avenues: 39-year-old woman battered by an unknown woman on sidewalk about 11:10 p.m. Monday.
  • 1000 block of Lierman Avenue: Handgun, safe, television and stereo stolen in apartment break-in Saturday.
  •  700 block of West Oregon Avenue: Lawn equipment and scrap metal stolen from yard Sunday.
  • Circle K, 1501 N. Lincoln Ave.: Forced entry to business Monday; lock, speaker and construction materials damaged.
  • 1000 block of East Water Street: DVDs, gaming system and television stolen.
  • 900 block of North Broadway Avenue: Identification and credit cards stolen from unlocked car.
  • 1200 block of South Orchard Street: Homemade explosive device put in postal drop box Monday.
  • Capstone Quarters, 1900 block of North Lincoln Avenue: Vending machine broken in Sunday.
  • Walmart, 100 S. High Cross Road: 52-year-old Camargo woman given notice to appear in court for cruelty to animals after leaving dog in hot car Monday afternoon.
