DANVILLE A fire Wednesday at a vacant house in the 1300 block of West Williams Street was deliberately set, officials say.
Asst. Chief Tom Pruitt said the arson ruling is the result of a joint investigation by the Danville Fire Department, Danville Police Department and Illinois State Fire Marshal's officials.
Firefighters were called to the house at 4:02 a.m. Wednesday and found heavy smoke and flames when they arrived.
No one was injured.
The two-story, frame house with a full basement was valued at $20,000 and the loss at $15,000, according to Pruitt.
The scene was cleared shortly after 5:30 a.m.
The investigation is continuing. There are no suspects, said Danville Public Safety Director Larry Thomason.
