DANVILLE – Advance tickets are still available for the third annual CASA Family Fun Hog Roast to benefit CASA of Vermilion County.

"We had a great time last year, and this year's event promises to be even better," board President Jane Dobbles said.

The hog roast is from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the White Oak Barn in Kennekuk County Park, 22296 Henning Road, Danville.

There will be live music from Doc Ashton and the Root Canals and the Four on the Floor Barbershop Quartet.

There also will be a separate children's area with crafts, face painting, crazy hair coloring, a dessert walk, scavenger hunt and games. All of these activities will be supervised.

Tickets are $10 per person. Children ages 2 and under can get in free.

Tickets can be purchased at the following Danville businesses: Bud's Express Cellular, Bud's Car Stereo & Cellular, Charlotte's, the Law Office of Lietz & Hussman Rogers and Royal Donut on East Main Street.

Tickets also are available online.

If people are not able to attend, they can still help by purchasing an admission ticket, Executive Director Barbara Bein said. She said each ticket that's purchased and sent in will be entered in a drawing to win various raffle prizes.

"Purchase as many chances to win as you'd like, knowing that each ticket purchased will help an abused or neglected child," Bein said.

CASA of Vermilion County's mission is to advocate for abused and neglected children in the juvenile court system by training and managing volunteers, known as court-appointed special advocates, to represent those children's best interest to the court.
