Roadside check brings 31 tickets, 24 warnings

URBANA – State police issued 31 tickets and 24 warnings during a roadside safety check Sunday night and Monday morning in Urbana.
Sgt. Bill Emery of the state police said the safety check was conducted at the intersection of Guardian Drive and University Avenue in Urbana.
One person was cited for driving under the influence of alcohol, and eight others were cited for other alcohol-related offenses. There were two other alcohol- or drug-related citations.
Drivers received 12 citations and 10 warnings for registration offenses and eight citations and six warnings for driver's licenses offenses.
Eight motorists received warnings for equipment offenses.
