Two Champaign men arrested after suspected marijuana is found in the trunk of their vehicle
URBANA — Bond has been set at $25,000 for two men arrested after police found 4.6 pounds of suspected marijuana in the trunk of their vehicle.
Dushawn C. Walker, 24, who listed an address in the 1100 block of West Eureka Street, Champaign, and Corey D. Holder, 25, who listed an address in the 1700 block of Anita Drive, Champaign, both pleaded innocent to a felony charge of unlawful possession with the intent to deliver cannibis.
If convicted, Walker and Holder could be sentenced to up to 15 years in prison.
According to State Police Sgt. Bill Emery, a state trooper pulled over a vehicle driven by Walker in the southbound lane of Interstate 57 one mile north of Rantoul for a speeding and improper lane usage at 12:10 a.m. Wednesday.
While police were at the scene, a police dog alerted to the presence of suspected drugs in the trunk of the car.
According to the report, Walker and Holder, the passenger, told police they were taking the substance from Chicago to Champaign for sale.
Judge John Kennedy set the next court appearance for the two men for Nov. 2.
Hope that they got it right!
