URBANA - An Urbana boy was treated for a broken leg Friday evening after he was hit by a motorist while riding his bicycle.
Urbana police Sgt. Joel Sanders said Jamarius Burton, 10, was riding his bicycle east on Fairview Avenue and was in the crosswalk crossing Lincoln Avenue when a car turning south on to Lincoln Avenue from Fairview struck him.
The driver of the car, Ann Gidding, 63, of Savoy, was issued a ticket for failure to yield to a person in a crosswalk.
The accident happened about 5 p.m., Sanders said.
Burton was taken to Carle Foundation Hospital where he was treated and released.
