Blue Ridge schools will have police presence after bomb threat

FARMER CITY – Entrances to Blue Ridge schools will be secured starting Tuesday morning after the school district received a bomb threat Monday afternoon.

The district said Monday afternoon that it had "received a bomb threat for a future date" at Blue Ridge High School and was putting its crisis management plan into effect.

Under that plan, police will secure the school before it opens Tuesday, and students and others will be able to use only the main entrances to the district's schools. Also, those coming into the buildings will be subject to search, Superintendent Susan W. Wilson said in a release.

The district will use its automated phone system and website for updates, Wilson said.
