Three people treated at hospital following crash in rural Homer
HOMER — Three people were treated at Carle Foundation Hospital following a two-vehicle crash in rural Homer on Saturday evening.
According to a state police report, Xiao Zhang, 23, of Urbana was driving a 2001 Audi east on County Road 1350N when she failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection with Illinois 49.
Police said Zhang proceeded into the intersection, where her vehicle was struck by a southbound 1995 Honda Civic driven by Jody S. Hilpipre, 51, of Homer.
Zhang, Hilpipre and a passenger in Zhang's vehicle, Zeng Ruijie, 23, of Urbana, were all taken to Carle Foundation Hospital, where they were treated and then released.
Police ticketed Zhang for operating an uninsured motor vehicle, disobeying a traffic control device and failing to yield at an intersection.
