Man sentenced to 15 years for robbery
URBANA — An Urbana man involved in a holdup of a convenience store in Champaign in March has been sentenced to 15 years in prison.
Gregory Rogers, 44, who listed an address in the 1400 block of East Michigan Avenue, pleaded guilty Tuesday before Champaign County Judge Harry Clem to robbery.
He admitted taking part in robbing two employees at the Colonial Pantry, 211 E. University Ave., C, on March 30. No weapons were displayed in a scuffle that pitted Rogers and co-defendant Robert Franklin, 45, against two male employees.
Franklin and Rogers ran in different directions after the robbery but were arrested by Champaign police within an hour.
Franklin pleaded guilty last week for the same sentence.
Court records indicate Rogers has prior convictions for aggravated criminal sexual assault, residential burglary, burglary, and driving under the influence.

He pleaded guilty to possession with intent to deliver cannabis, admitting that on March 25, 2010, he had about a half-pound of cannabis in his home intended for sale.
Champaign police found the cannabis, a gun, drug paraphernalia and cash there following a court-ordered search of the residence.
— Jesse Redmond, 19, of Jacksonville, was sentenced to six years in prison and fined more than $5,600 after pleading guilty to possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.

He was also ordered to pay, along with two co-defendants, his share of restitution of $1,360 to the victim. Clem allowed Bristle to remain free until July 12.
— David Nash, 40, whose last known address was in Peoria, was resentenced to four years in prison for aggravated domestic battery.
He admitted to Difanis that he violated the probation he received for choking a woman in Urbana in March 2010 by failing to report to a probation officer, not getting substance abuse counseling, and using cannabis.
