Body identified as Champaign man

CHAMPAIGN — A man whose body was found in north Champaign on Wednesday has been identified.
Champaign County Coroner Duane Northrup said the body found in the 800 block of North State Street was that of Nathaniel Carter, 50, of Champaign.
An autopsy was performed on Thursday in Bloomington. Results from that autopsy were not available yet.
Police were called to the 800 block of North State Street about 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, when a man found the man’s body in knee-high weeds.
Crime scene investigators spent much of the late afternoon and early evening taking photographs and processing the site.
