Mattoon man sentenced for child pornography

MATTOON — A Mattoon man was sentenced on Thursday to serve more than 12 years in federal prison for the distribution, receipt and possession of child pornography.
Chief U.S. District Judge Michael P. McCuskey sentenced Jeffrey S. Belles, 30, of Mattoon to serve 151 months in prison, followed by 20 years of supervised release and to maintain registration as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
Belles pleaded guilty on March 30 to distribution, receipt and possession of child pornography.
He was arrested following an investigation by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Office of Homeland Security Investigations, the Illinois Attorney General's Internet Crimes Against Children task force and the Mattoon Police Department.
