Nobody injured in house fire in Ogden
OGDEN — Ogden-Royal Fire Chief Randy Thompsen said the cause of a Sunday afternoon house fire remains under investigation.
According to a fire department report, three people who lived at a home at 307 E. Broadway Street, Ogden, came home at 2:15 p.m. Sunday to see smoke coming from their house and called 911.
When Ogden-Royal firefighters arrived a few minutes later, they saw smoke coming from the back portion of the house, the report said.
Ogden-Royal firefighters were joined by firefighters from the St. Joseph-Stanton and Homer fire departments, Thompsen said.
Thompsen said it appeared that the fire may have started in the utility room.
Firefighters had the fire under control by 2:30 p.m. Nobody was injured.
The Champaign County assessor's website listed the owners of the property as Bradley and Corina Zellers of Ogden.
